AWANA Clubs

WELCOME!

AWANA Clubs meet each Wednesday evening September through May. Check out this exciting program for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade. We also have Pro-Teens for youth in grades 7-12.

First Baptist Church is a place with relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, and concern for those in need. We look forward to meeting you!

At FBCO you will find a friendly church desiring to worship and serve the Lord, and committed to studying and living out the truth of God’s Word, the Bible.

Awana BannerDuring the school year (Sept-May), kids in kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to attend AWANA clubs. The name is an acronym, Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, based on 2 Timothy 2:15, which emphasizes the importance of learning and properly using the Bible, God’s Holy Word.

The children meet in two different age-group clubs*: Sparks (K-2nd gr); and TNT (Truth & Training, gr. 3-6). Children will learn Bible verses, play games, and be challenged by a short devotional. Some special events are also planned during the year.

*Note: We will not have a Cubbies group for fall 2016. But we do hope to restart that club soon.

A van route is available for children whose families are not able to provide transportation. Contact our church office for more information.

Parent & Clubber Information:

If Oxford Community Schools close for severe weather, then we will also cancel AWANA for that evening. If an AWANA meeting is ever cancelled due to severe weather or other emergency, a notice will be posted in two locations: (1) the home page of the church website; and (2) the church Facebook page, firstbaptistoxford. Please bookmark our home page and “Like Us” on Facebook. Thank you.

We need to have updated contact information and an emergency medical treatment release form on file for each child participating in AWANA. You can download the registration form, then (1) return it as an attachment by email, or (2) complete it at home and bring it with you to the church. Either approach will help speed up the registration process when you bring your child to AWANA.

This year we have added a number of free online resources for parents. These are designed to give you opportunity to work with your child and to keep track of what your child is learning. The resources include: (1) Parent Pages that correspond with each of the lessons in the student handbooks and (2) Audio Recordings of all the verses your child will be learning during the current AWANA year.

We have included the AWANA schedule here to make sure you have convenient access to it. Feel free to contact the church office (Phone: 248.628.2911; Email: info@oxfordbaptist.net) if you ever have any questions.
