“This Week at FBC Oxford” (Announcements & Opportunities)

For those who were unable to attend services, out of town, or sick at home, here is a list of announcements shared at church on Sunday.

There are also some ministry opportunities for those with a willing servant’s heart. How are you using your spiritual gifts to serve the body and glorify the Lord?

August 27—Big Fish Lake Picnic 1 pm Fellowship lunch and afternoon baptismal service at Big Fish Lake Pavilion.

Janitorial Service—We are in need of additional janitorial service. If you are interested in working a few hours (or more) a week on a flexible schedule, please contact the church office.

Volunteer Ministry Opportunities—We are in need of willing servants to assist with projects around the church. Please contact the church office or see Pastor, Jacob or Amy if you are able to help with any of these.

  • Trimming shrubs and bushes around the building
  • Extra cleaning during the week due to construction

Scripture Memory—Our verses for the week are Philippians 3:5-6 “Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.”

Restroom Construction—Construction has begun!  Thank you for your patience.  Serious progress is underway! Keep looking for more updates on the church Facebook page.

AWANA Ministry Needs—AWANA is scheduled to start up on Sept. 13. We are in need of some additional workers (e.g.  T&T leaders, listener/helpers). There will also be some tasks to complete in preparation for the start of the AWANA year (e.g. passing out fliers, putting down new colored tape on floor, etc.). See Pastor or Amy if you are willing to help. Please pray.

Ladies Bible Study—Ladies Bible Study will resume September 11 and 12.  The Monday evening study is at 7 pm and the Tuesday morning study is at 10 am.  We will be going through the book “How’s Your Attitude?” by Juanita Purcell.  See Pam or Lynn with any questions.

Sunday Evening Format—Beginning in September, we will be adjusting our Sunday evening format to allow for more opportunities for ministry involvement and growth.  The first Sunday of each month will be a ‘regular’ evening service.  The second Sunday will be a mens meeting and ladies meeting at the church where we divide into groups for service projects and studies.  The third Sunday will be a church home fellowship, and the fourth Sunday will be a Missions Emphasis or Ministry Training emphasis at church.  The fifth Sunday schedule will remain the same with a fellowship dinner and afternoon service.  We are excited to see how God uses these opportunities to grow our church and its members.

Ladies Fall RetreatSept. 29-30 at Camp CoBeAc. Cost is $80 by Aug.29 and $85 after. Sign up in the foyer or see Lynn Wiggins for more information.
