Construction Progress, part 2
When things finally got rolling, they got moving fast! After only one week of active construction, it is amazing what has been accomplished. And much of what was done in the first few days (HVAC work) can’t even be seen unless you go up into the attic. But you sure will be able to feel the difference. We have also had the floor cored, the framing roughed in, and the first phase of electrical and plumbing completed. Once the required inspections are completed things will be off and running again.
July 27-August 3
Our restroom construction project may seem to have had a slow start, but there was lots going on behind the scenes even during that time. Construction is now in full swing, with significant advances taking place each day. To help bring you up to speed, we have provided a quick overview of progress so far. This post will show some of the things going on during April and May.
Demolition & Window Installation
During April and May, several important steps were taken. The walls were torn down to create space for the restrooms. And a brand new high efficiency window was installed, including weather-proof Dry-Vit exterior on the surfaces above and below the window.
During those same months several other building improvement efforts were underway. The main level terrazzo floors were stripped and waxed. The church kitchen received some much needed upgrades to sinks, countertops and plumbing.
Each evening we had more teens present. And each evening, after enjoying lots of fun and games, a Bible challenge was presented by our rally time evangelist, Mr. Sam. We finished the evening with lots of good food.
Wednesday was “Water Night.” We want to thank our Oxford Fire Department for assisting us again this year.
Thursday evening was “Destination Unknown.” We travelled to a church member home and had lots of vigorous outdoor competition, followed by plenty of good food. We ended the evening with a Bible challenge from our own ministry intern, Jacob Ignacio. As part of that challenge he shared his own testimony of coming to faith in Christ as a teen on the island of Guam. Several spiritual decisions were made that evening. Praise the Lord.
We hope you will enjoy some more pictures from the last half of our 2017 NBT Teen Rally week.
The Lord allowed us to have a fun and spiritually profitable time last week with our teens, and their friends. The attendance grew each day. Many of our teens went canvassing with us in the afternoons. And we had a fantastic group of adult volunteers every night. God graciously worked in many young lives to make important decisions for Christ. We are thankful for the labors of our NBT evangelists. Mr. Sam led the teen effort each evening.
We hope you will enjoy some pictures from our 2017 NBT Teen Rally. This post includes pictures from Sunday through Tuesday evenings. A separate post will include pictures for Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Neighborhood Bible Time
It was a wonderful week working with the children. God worked mightily in so many young lives. Thank you volunteers. And thank you parents. We hope you will enjoy these photos from the last half of NBT 2017, including the Awards Program on Friday evening.

Neighborhood Bible Time
The Lord graciously gave us a wonderful week (July 17-21) working with a great group of children. We had beautiful weather all week. And, more importantly, many children made spiritual decisions for salvation, assurance and dedication in response to the teaching of God’s Word. The Lord also blessed us with a fantastic team of faithful volunteers and our ministry partners for the week, NBT evangelists Mr. Marcus, Mr. Noah, and Mr. Sam.
I hope you enjoy these pictures from the first few days of NBT. A second set of pictures will follow for the last half of the week.
Don’t forget, AWANA starts up on September 13. We hope to see you there.
